The “Companion Way”

Updated: Jun 18

Welcome aboard to Sail Beyond Cancer’s BLOG

“The Companion - Way”

Why name our BLOG the Companion Way you may ask? Because at Sail Beyond Cancer, we believe in the power of companionship in our COMMUNITY especially as it applies to people who are being challenged by cancer.

What does it mean to receive a phone call from a friend who shares that he/she has cancer?

What does it mean to know that other people are thinking of you as you are being challenged by cancer and creating experiences that are meaningful and special.

I can tell you as someone who has experienced first hand while I was going through my breast cancer treatment that it meant everything to know that while I was physically ill and under immense stress, there were people in my life who cared enough to be committed to be with me during my journey with cancer.

In this BLOG we will share with you organizations and people who are committed to this kind of companionship and compassion and who are committed to lifting those who are struggling with cancer to another level of perspective.

Organizations such as:

Fly Fishing, Make a Wish, Mahana Magic, Cancer Patient Support, grateful friends.

These are organizations that you should know about if you know someone who is battling cancer.

Finally, with the latest CDC’s statistics that 1 out of 3 people in their life time will be or have been diagnosed with cancer, it is likely that you will know of someone that would be thrilled to receive this information!

We are thrilled to ‘have you on board’!

Wishing you Fair Winds and Calm Seas.
