About the Event
Sail Beyond Cancer Virginia’s ‘East Beach Excursion’
Honoring those being challenged by cancer by harnessing the healing powers of wind, water & sail!
In our inaugural season here in Virginia, there has been a tremendous response within communities across our region for the free, 3-hour therapeutic respite sails that Sail Beyond Cancer Virginia provides. What better place to find respite than on the Chesapeake Bay and its waters!
Our volunteers have been relentless in their outreach and connecting with cancer centers across the state to reach nominees, and approximately 30% of the nominees have been from the Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Chesapeake area.
As a result, we are excited to expand our volunteer base and the Hybrid Boat Program! We look forward to a summer excursion to the Little Creek and East Beach communities and hope to see you there!

Are you interested in supporting our mission, but curious as to what the cancer patient nominees and their guests experience? Join us aboard s/v Solace! The 2-hour awareness sails are an opportunity to leave the dock and get behind the helm with our volunteer crew. Each awareness sail can accommodate six guests.

Join Sail Beyond Cancer founder, Suzanne Snyder, along with the Virginia Chapter Board Members for a wine tasting social and opportunity to hear from a respite sail participant! This drop-in event will include sampling of 3 wines, then one glass of taster's choice, along with charcuterie nibbles.
