North Shore MA
Sail Beyond Cancer® North Shore is our Chapter in Salem, Massachusetts. Our mission statement is Honoring those challenged by cancer by harnessing the healing powers of wind, water, and sail. We run our sailing excursions out of Safe Harbor Hawthorne Cove Marina located on 10 White Street, Salem, MA.
With our donated 38’ Frers sailboat “HIGH TEA”, we are able to provide free 3-hour sailing excursions 5 days a week, two times a day. We serve those who are being challenged by cancer anywhere in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, and New Hampshire.
We are members of the Salem Chamber of Commerce, as well as members of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce. We hold informational gatherings outside on the dock at Safe Harbor Hawthorne Cover Marina as well as other locations.
You or anyone can Nominate someone who is going through the challenge of cancer - anyone of any age and type of cancer! Each patient (aka "nominee") is welcome to bring up to five people to join them on their private free 3-hour sail.
We are always looking for great volunteers who would like to make a difference in people’s lives through our special nonprofit. We have opportunities to get involved in many areas including: being a volunteer Captain or Crew as well community outreach, administration, and fundraising.
We encourage you to ‘come aboard’ by completing the inquiry form after clicking the Volunteer button below. You will be contacted soon after your form has been submitted.
If you are interested in learning more or would like to brainstorm ideas on how to collaborate, please email: northshore@sailbeyondcancer.org.

💙 With Gratitude, We Welcome “GLORY” to
Sail Beyond Cancer® North Shore ⛵️
This week, our hearts are full as we proudly announce that “Glory,” a beautiful 45-foot Morgan Nelson Marek 454, has been generously donated to Sail Beyond Cancer North Shore.
Donated by someone deeply touched by our mission, Glory will serve as the signature vessel for our North Shore chapter—providing free mission sails that offer peace, joy, and healing to individuals and families navigating the challenges of cancer. Her new home will be at Safe Harbor Marina Hawthorne Cove, where she’ll soon be sailing Salem Sound with purpose.
With her strong fiberglass hull, fin keel for stability, wide side decks, and spacious cockpit, Glory is thoughtfully suited for comfort, accessibility, and meaningful moments on the water—exactly what our mission sails are all about.
To our generous donor: thank you for believing in this mission and for making it possible to offer many more mission sails in the years ahead. Your gift will touch countless lives.
Photos shared here are from Glory’s recent Work Day—an exciting first chapter in a journey filled with hope.
This is what it means to Sail BEYOND Cancer.💙
